Founded in 1992, NFHF is a growing 501(c)3 disability resource and training center serving individuals with disabilities and their family members across the 5 Northshore parishes. Our center is staffed by parents of a son or daughter with a disability and adults with disabilities. We provide peer to peer support to families, disability information and trainings, special education guidance to parents, and inclusive community activities for adults with developmental disabilities.

Northshore Families Helping Families is seeking a dynamic, motivated, and visionary leader as its next Executive Director (ED) with a passion for empowering individuals with disabilities that is also a parent or direct caregiver of a child with a disability or a person with a disability.
NFHF Executive Director Position:
Reporting directly to the Board of Directors the ideal candidate will have the skills and confidence needed to be the face of the organization, shouldering the responsibility of providing organization-wide strategic direction and implementing a progressive vision for the future.
The Executive Director position is responsible for overall leadership for daily operations, strategy, organizational development, financial oversight, and fundraising.
The ability to interact with staff in a fast-paced environment remaining flexible, proactive, resourceful, and efficient with a high level of professionalism is crucial to this role. Impeccable written and verbal communication skills, basic to advanced computer skills, strong decision making ability and attention to detail are equally important. An aptitude to multitask is also essential.
Above all, the ideal candidate will be a visionary leader with a commitment to the empowerment and inclusion of children and adults with disabilities, as well as familiar of disability services and resources in Louisiana.
The ED position is full time; office hours are Monday through Friday 9am to 4pm with occasional evenings and weekends on a monthly basis.
